For this weekend, we are leaving the Belgian limestone behind and heading to the beautiful Vosges du Midi!
As a region sitting at the crossroads of Germanic and French identity, the landscape here tells a story that is as much about history and culture as it is about climbing. And while the Vosges offer many climbing opportunities, this weekend we will head to the Bas-Rhin region, or the area around Saverne, located about 40 km from Strasbourg. The area is famous for its unique pink sandstone & its medieval castle ruins that offer a cinematic backdrop. Single-pitching or bouldering, be sure that the area has enough for all tastes!
Because we are heading further south into France, this is one of our longer drives and longer weekends of the season (3 days), but the quality of the rock and the scenery are well worth the journey!
Keep in mind that this is an independent weekend. Only climb in the styles you are certified for!
